Policy SA4 site lies within the setting of the AONB and could impact representative viewpoints identified in the AONB Views and Setting Guide. Reinforcing vegetation on site boundaries would help to retain the woodland character in long views from the AONB and contain development. A Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment should inform the site layout and masterplan to identify where additional structural planting could be located. A sensitive appraoch to lighting/light spillage should be adopted.

Site 016 - Recommend that proposals protect and enhance perimeter hedges to maintain a visual buffer.
Site 591 - The erosion of the Green Belt to the east of Huntington is a serious concern given the village's setting, proximity to the AONB and the surrounding topographgy. The AONB seeks reconsideration of the potential allocation of this site.
Land South of Stafford - The AONB requests further assessment of this site and reference to the AONB Views and Setting Guide. Housing development on the higher site elevations should be avoided to avoid a stark developed edge and a development brief including a strong woodland buffer and sensitive approach to light spillage could reduce landscape and visual impacts.

Policy HC9 - Would welcome signposting to the AONB Design Guide in relation to proposed development within the AONB.
Policy NB1 - The AONB would welcome reference to protecting and enhancing the Cannock Chase AONB as habitats and wildlife comprise and intrinsic part of natural beauty. The Policy should seek to maximise opportunities to reduce and mitigate for potential pressure from additional footfall in the AONB as a result of nearby housing development.
