Road layout should provide enclosed community atmosphere and should not create a number of escape routes for offenders to evade the police. Freight good thefts have been reported from Hilton Services, it may be worth considering allocating land to provide secure HGV parking facilities here. Walking and cycling routes to and from the railway station should be wide paths with clear line of sight. Public transport should be a regular and reliable service with safe and secure car parks.

The Council should continue to consult Staffordshire Police regarding potential employment sites, for both the buildings themselves and car parks.

Car parks for retail should provide sufficient parking bays suitable for the larger vehicles. It would be beneficial for CCTV to operate in car parks and stores.
