New development should encourage healthy activity. Need to create an environment that makes it safe to combine exercise and essential activity - schooling, shopping etc.

Footways and cyclways are therefore essential. New development should not be a barrier to future byways required to interconnect to villages and country parks.

A national walk-cycle-horse-ride grid is needed to allow locals and tourists to safely walk-cycle-horse-ride the country.Such a comprehensive grid would encourage people to walk-cycle-ride and encourage pubs to provide the overnight accommodation.

Path and Byway provision needs to be incorporated prior to grant of planning
