Representation ID: 963

Received: 13/12/2021

Respondent: Gavin Williamson CBE MP

Representation Summary:

Deeply concerned about proposals to regularise unauthorised pitches to meet South Staffordshire’s Gypsy and Traveller needs. The council needs to keep pushing forwards with their Duty to Co-operate discussions with neighbouring local authorities to address some of the issues with meeting their Gypsy and Traveller needs. There have been many issues in the local area including travellers parking at the entrance to the field and not removing vehicles when requested, food being thrown into the field and the burning of plastic and tyres, also noise emanating from the site. Very concerned about the proposed site at 122 Streets Lane - there have been many issues in the local area including travellers parking at the entrance to the field and not removing vehicles when requested, food being thrown into the field and the burning of plastic and tyres, also noise emanating from the site. There is a very strong argument in making sure there is no further development of these sites.

Wombourne Village is surrounded with green land which separates the village from other areas and the main road such as A449. This allows for spaced out housing, building on Poolhouse Roads and Billy Buns Lane in particular will create Urban Sprawl and Wombourne will no longer be defined as a Village.
